Kia ora — Welcome. I’m Kell Sunshine, a muralist & illustrator, specialising in lettering.

From the shores of Aotearoa/New Zealand, I’m inspired by the interwoven world of living beings — unraveling the myth of human exceptionalism and finding our place among the countless creatures of the Earth. My work is a celebration of connection and kinship, expressed through a creative style that is lush, clean, bold, and tender, with meticulously crafted, distinctive colour palettes.

I have 17 years experience illustrating gig posters, beverage labels, books & articles, jigsaws, apparel graphics, vehicle graphics and more. I’ve worked with 270+ clients, and painted murals on walls across New Zealand, Australia, Mexico, USVI, Greece & Indonesia. I speak at conferences, on podcasts, and I’m one of five directing members of The League of Live Illustrators.

I’m driven by movement, and enjoy the many opportunities that come my way to explore the world through my work.

I work with values-aligned humans and brands to help communicate ideas with clarity, warmth, and character. Using illustration & lettering, I help shape the stories that need to be told—visually translating messages with a curious and collaborative approach.‍ ‍
