Kia ora — Welcome. I’m Kell Sunshine, a muralist & illustrator, specialising in hand lettering.

From the shores of Aotearoa/New Zealand, I’m creatively committed to exploring our entanglement with the more-than-human world — unravelling the myth of human exceptionalism and recognising our place within the wider biodiversity of this planet. My work is a celebration of connection and kinship, brought to life through a bold, lush visual language and colour palettes built with obsessive care.

I have 17 years experience illustrating gig posters, beverage labels, books & articles, jigsaws, apparel graphics, vehicle graphics and more. I’ve worked with 300+ clients, and painted murals on walls across New Zealand, Australia, Mexico, USVI, Greece, Samoa & Indonesia. I speak at conferences, on podcasts, and I’m one of five directing members of The League of Live Illustrators.

I'm driven by movement, and welcome the opportunities my work brings to explore this world.

I work with values-aligned humans and brands to help communicate ideas with warmth. Using illustration & lettering, I help shape the stories that need to be told—visually translating messages with a curious and collaborative approach.‍ ‍
