Eastland Port
The port was looking to add some vibrancy and colour to this old container that sits adjacent to the tug boats. In addition, they wanted a set of flags to set up alongside this busy hub where restaurants and fishing boats bring loads of foot traffic, especially in the summer months.
I designed the flags and mural simultaneously, keeping in mind that the design would need to work across 2 very different formats.
The flags were delivered in 3 different colourways (below) and the container painted on 2 sides, showcasing our precious sea-life, and celebrating the large surfing community whilst referencing the port’s beloved tug boat and Te Kuri a Pāoa (headland) in the background.
